Sometimes the right cat finds their way into your life before you ever planned on adopting one. At Shallowford Animal Hospital, we regularly have kittens for adoption in Lewisville, NC who are waiting to meet the families they will call their own.
Most of our adoptable pets are kittens, with the occasional adult cat available as well. Each cat receives veterinary care through our animal hospital before going home, including age-appropriate vaccinations, disease screening, parasite testing and treatment, and spay or neuter surgery.

What Veterinary Care Do Adoptable Kittens Receive?
We want each kitten to begin life with their new family after receiving appropriate veterinary care. The adoption fee for each kitten is $75, which helps cover the cost of medical care, housing, food, and any essentials they might need.
Before adoption, our kittens are:
- Tested and confirmed negative for FeLV and FIV
- Checked and treated for intestinal parasites
- Kept up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations
- Spayed or neutered before going home
- Examined and cared for by the Shallowford Animal Hospital veterinary team
Kittens may appear on this page before their spay or neuter procedure has been completed, but they cannot go home with their new family until after surgery.

Adopting through Shallowford starts with finding a kitten you would like to meet and completing an adoption application.
Helping Local Kittens Find Their Families
Shallowford Animal Hospital has been connecting cats with adoptive families since Dr. Eads purchased the practice. Today, approximately 60 to 70 kittens each year receive care through the hospital before finding permanent homes.
Our adoption program focuses primarily on kittens, although an adult cat may occasionally become available.
Because our available housing is often full, Shallowford Animal Hospital is not a general surrender or drop-off location for cats or kittens. In some circumstances, our team may be able to consider an individual situation, but acceptance must always be arranged in advance.
